INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY THERAPIST

1 Permanent Full-Time Position
(Windsor/Leamington)
Responsibilities:

• To actively engage youth and their families in a therapeutic process that includes assessment, goal setting and evidence-based intervention.
• To provide individual, family and group therapy.
• To work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• To maintain a strong knowledge base in specialized areas such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and behaviour, borderline personality disorder and other disorders occurring with the youth served.
• To assess and respond effectively to areas of concern, risk, and high-risk behaviours
• To effectively communicate with parents/guardians regarding risk situations and collaborate with families in the development of safety plans.
• To coordinate services by facilitating relationships between the youth, their family, and all outside resources including social services, health organizations and community schools.
• To formulate treatment plans, progress statements and discharge summaries.

Qualifications:

1. Masters or Bachelor of Social Work, Masters in Psychology, or Counseling; preferably a minimum of three years’ experience in a setting providing treatment services to youth and their families; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Registration and good standing with the appropriate governing regulatory body.
3. Experience working with youth or mental health services and addictions is a definite asset.
4. Ability to provide services in both English and French is considered a strong asset and will be given preference where operationally beneficial.

Salary and Benefits: $33.97 - $47.08 per hour, commensurate with education, experience, and applicable salary grid placement.

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Work Location: Windsor with a 3 to 5-day assignment in Leamington based on client demand.

Reporting to: Program Manager
