CASUAL REGISTERED NURSES
For our Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Unit
(a small unit serving youth with mental health issues)
Primarily 8-hour shifts: evenings, midnights and weekends, holidays
Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for the ongoing medical assessment and monitoring of patient’s health status, identification of patient’s needs and the development of care plans to meet those needs.
- Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team consisting of: child and youth care workers, social workers, psychiatrists, and consulting general practitioner.
- Monitor and administer medications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Life Support – current or willing to update upon hire
- COVID-19 vaccination
- Previous hospital, community, primary health care, or psychiatric nursing experience considered an asset but not required.

- Child and Youth Worker — Working directly with the children and teens. Applicants with a college diploma or university degree in a related field are preferred.
- Social Worker — Providing counselling and support. Masters in Social Work degree preferred.
- Psychologists — Ph.D., C.Psych. required.
- Management — Providing support, leadership and administration. Applicants with masters degrees are preferred.
- Administration — Various levels.
